Meet Our Team &
Who We Are

We are innovators obsessed with beautiful craftsmanship.

Our team of exceptional showroom, sales and project experts are the reason Classic Floor Designs has been Washington’s premier source for gorgeous floors for more than 35 years. We offer our clientele the highest-quality materials, white-glove service and sustainable designs you’ll be proud to showcase in your home for years to come.

Marc Lefkowitz
CEO + Managing Partner

Floors are practically in the blood for Marc, who grew up working for his parents at their company, Hoboken Floors, then the nation’s largest flooring company. After graduating from George Washington University, he started Classic Floor Designs in Washington, working first out of his garage, and later out of the company’s L Street showroom in DC, where Classic Floor Designs remains to this day. Marc is renowned for his long-standing relationships with industry leaders and suppliers, and is proud to work with architects and designers to make your high-end custom projects shine. Under his watchful eye, Classic Floor Designs has been part of the team working on the floors in the Oval Office of the White House, and won awards for its flooring in the German Ambassador’s residence. His favorite project, however, is your next one.

Elise Lefkowitz
Managing Partner, Showroom Director

With her husband Marc, Elise is one of Classic Floor’s original flooring experts. After earning her degree in finance from George Washington University, Elise joined Marc in the company and quickly fashioned herself as the firm’s go-to for all things carpeting, with an eye for vibrant, bold colors. After years of developing long-standing relationships with carpet vendors and area designers, she’s a pro at helping clients achieve their dreams for unique looks that will last for years.

Queral Butler
Director of projects

Queral is a natural problem solver and creative thinker who thrives on working with clients to deliver upscale service, high-end flooring and unique solutions for unique spaces. Since earning the ropes of the flooring business as a teenager, he’s become one of Classic Floors’ most valuable assets, bringing the same attention to detail and care to your home as he does to former museums and homes in the Ritz Carlton. His favorite material for flooring? A hand-scraped white oak with light character. “I love the texture and feel of it when you’re barefoot.”

Gail Silverblank
Showroom Manager

After more than 15 years as a print advertising manager for a major metropolitan retailer, Gail joined Classic Floor Designs as its showroom manager. Today, with more than 20 years of expertise in floors, Gail is able to make clients feel at home in our showroom and guide them to the best solutions for their projects. She loves carpeting and her cat, Babe. She lives in Silver Spring.

Mary Catherine Szczesiak
scheduler

Mary Catherine, a native of Northern Virginia, keeps our scheduling of projects on track so your project is completed on time, with the craftsmanship you’ve come to expect. Before Classic Floor Designs, she worked in the construction business. Her favorite material is decorative tile.
